Margie Palmer Carter passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010, in Beeville, Texas at the age of 88. Margie was born to Guy and Christine (Thompson) Palmer in Bee County, Texas on July 16, 1921. She grew up on which was called "The Colony" near Normanna. It was there that she married John Thurman "J.T." Carter on May 2, 1941. Margie worked for the Bee County District Clerk's Office as the District Clerk and retired in 1993. She was a member of the County and District Clerk's Associations of Texas as well as a member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's group. Margie is preceded in death by her husband, J.T, "Red" Carter; parents, Guy and Christine Palmer; granddaughter, Christine Lees; son, John Palmer Carter; brother, Bill Palmer; and sister-in-law, Carol Palmer. She is survived by one daughter, Sarah Carter of Beeville; a grandson, Ronald "Rusty" Lees and his wife Lynn of Sugar Land; a great-grandson, Carter John Lees of Sugar Land; and nephew, Tom Palmer and his wife Camilla of Beeville. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Margie's life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Duke officiating and Lucille Kinkler as organist. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville. Pallbearers will be Rusty Lees, Brian Heard, Rene Gonzales, Carter Lees, Hank Catenacci, and Tom Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be C. F.
