Maria Martinez

Maria E. Martinez, 84, of Three Rivers, died Monday, July 3, 2017.

Mrs. Martinez was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Three Rivers to Amado and Manuela (Rodriguez) Garcia. She married Clyde E. Martinez on Jan. 26, 1948, in Three Rivers. She was a lifelong resident of Three Rivers, a homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughters, Florencia Martinez Lara and Celia Martinez; a son, Erasmo Martinez; a sister, Julia Tanguma; and a brother, Francisco Garcia.

Survivors include two daughters, Olga Martinez of Corpus Christi and Adelita (Johnny) Berlanga of George West; three sisters, Lucia Pena of Corpus Christi, Amada Sotello of Three Rivers and Senaida Pena of Premont; a brother, Antonio Garcia of Corpus Christi; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Three Rivers with a rosary recited there at 7 o’clock that evening.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. George Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakville Cemetery.
