Marian Spickerman

Marian Beyer Spickerman, 93, passed away on January 5, 2014. She was born on March 10, 1920, to James Lonnie "Lon" and Lillian (Sassin) Hall in San Antonio, TX. She married Nelton "Squirrel" Beyer on February 15, 1941, and her second husband, Donald Glenn Spickerman on July 14, 1973. She lived in Skidmore most of her life. She was a Methodist and a member of the Skidmore Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She worked for Skidmore-Tynan Independent School District as a cafeteria manager and was an Avon sales lady for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Nelton "Squirrel" Beyer; two sons, Glen Nelton Beyer and Garland Ray Beyer; grandson, Thomas "Chuck" Betchan and aunt, Ellen Hall Harkreader. She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Spickerman of Skidmore, TX; two daughters-in-law, Mary Beyer of Rockdale, TX and Margie Beyer of Skidmore, TX; four grandchildren, Denise Betchan, Darla (Jay) Willingham, Billy (Maxie) Beyer, and Stacie (Charles) Tonne; seven great grandchildren, Mendy, Thomas, Jacob, Bree, Riley, Emily, and Brady; three cousins, Johnny Sugarek of Dallas, TX, Lorain Walsh of San Antonio, TX and Robert and Geri Horne of Victoria, TX. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be present from 3-5 p.m. to receive friends. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, TX. Pallbearers will be Brady Bednorz, Thomas Betchan, Billy Beyer, Israel Nunez, Rocky Stautzenberger, Charles Tonne, Jacob Willingham, and Jay Willingham. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Simnacher and Johnny Sugarek.
