Marie Larkin

Marie Estelle Key Manning Larkin, 98, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, March 5, 2016. She was born in Dewville (Gonzales County) Texas on August 25, 1917, to Ira and Winnie (Rucker) Key. She lived most of her life in Texas graduating from Miller High School, class of 1935, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She retired after 15 years from work in the cafeteria at Tom Brown Jr. High School in Corpus Christi. She was a member of First Baptist Church in George West and served her Lord faithfully. She loved giving to her family and was a caregiver to numerous family members much of her life. She was dearly loved by them. She was a current resident of Live Oak Nursing Center and lifetime homemaker and mother of four children. She is preceded in death by her son, James Rodger Manning; husband, James H. Manning; husband, Peter Larkin; son-in-law, AJ Viertel; and sister, Kate Arnold Davidson. She is survived by daughter, Patsy Viertel of George West; son, Paul (Kay) Manning of Denison; daughter, Cynthia Manning Harrison of The Woodlands; brother, Albert Wooten of Winter Park, Florida; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Galloway & Sons chapel in George West with the funeral service conducted there that evening at 6 o'clock. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Cedarcrest Cemetery in Baytown, Texas.
