Marissa Newson

Marissa Renee Lynette Newson, 15, of Beeville, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017. Miss Newson was born Feb. 14, 2001, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Ciji Edwards and Willie Newson Jr. She was a Baptist and a 10th grade student at A.C. Jones High School. Survivors include her mother, Ciji (Ashley) Edwards of Beeville; her father, Willie (Tiffany) Newson Jr. of San Antonio; four sisters, Mikayla Newson, Brianna Newson, Aklia Newson and Dejia Newson; a brother, Mikal Newson; and grandparents, Penny Edwards of Beeville, Lupe Rocha of Three Rivers, and Annette Newson and Willie Newson Sr., both of Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. The funeral service will be conducted there Thursday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
