Marjorie McNeill Roberts passed away on August 15, 2010, following a long illness. She was a life-long resident of Beeville; the daughter of Dr. Scott and Aleene McNeill and the wife of John Bryson Roberts, all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Roberts Tindol (Beeville) and Marji Roberts Gray (San Antonio); four grandchildren, Justin Coldeway (New Braunfels), Kristin Coldeway Evons (Houston), Richard B. Gray (Jersey City, NJ), and Emily Gray Veazey (Atlanta, GA); and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Roberts was a long standing member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Daughters of the King and was active in several local social clubs and organizations. She attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. She served as the Headmaster of St. Philip's School before teaching at A.C. Jones High School and Bee County College. She will forever be remembered as a gracious and genteel Texas woman who was elegantly proud of her heritage and unconditionally supportive of her family. The family received friends at the Roberts residence on Thursday, August 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Beeville, Texas, on Friday, August 20, at 4 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. Philips School in memory of Mrs. Roberts.
