Mary Emilie Hanus, 92, went to be with the Lord and into the arms of her sweetheart Rudolf on August 13, 2011. Mary was born to Melichar and Mary Kusak Prochazka on August 1, 1919 in the town of Cistern, TX. She married her sweetheart Rudolf Dubec on August 5, 1937 in Robstown, TX. Mary never met a stranger and had such a love for people. She had a servant's heart being involved in many activities and clubs throughout her life. She was a member of The St. Joseph Altar Society, the Fireman's Women Auxiliary, a one time board member of The Olmos Community Hall, and The Senior Community Center of Beeville. She was well known for her baking especially her delicious kolaches. Mary loved her family and loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. God must have needed a gardener because he picked the best to watch over all His children. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her 3 brothers and 1 sister, Charlie Hanus her second husband and her first husband Rudolf Dubec. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Alice Newton and husband Lloyd of Seguin, TX., 2 grandchildren, Kurt Newton and wife Becky and Ronnie Newton and wife Beth all of Seguin, TX: 5 great grandchildren Justin, Kandace, Tyler, Kathryn and Robert all of Seguin; sister, Della Preston of Pensacola, FL. and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am with a Funeral mass to begin at 11 am all at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Beeville Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The South Texas Children's Home, P.O. Box 1210, Beeville, TX 78104-9984, or masses at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
