Mary Havelka

Mary Lynn Havelka, 75, of Blanconia, Texas passed away August 27, 2016. She was born on October 26, 1940 in Beeville, Texas to Charles M. and Henry Ella (Granberry) Kellum. She married Marvin W. Havelka on November 11, 1959 in Taft, Texas. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Peregrine Society of St. Joseph, St. Joseph Altar Society, St. Joseph Quilting Group and Lutheran Prayer Group. She retired from First National Bank of Taft as the secretary to the president and was a substitute teacher in Refugio, Texas and Goliad, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Marvin W. Havelka. She is survived by her daughter, Nova Lynn and Dr. Richard Montgomery of Hughes Springs, Texas; son, Miles E. Havelka and Shiela Scioneaux of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Brittany Nikole Montgomery of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Colton Barrett Havelka of San Antonio, Texas; and brother, Charles E. Kellum of Sinton, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Donohoe officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
