Mary Pippins

Mary Pippins, 86, of Beeville, died Friday, July 5, 2013. Mrs. Pippins was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Corpus Christi to Mary Audrey (Lambert) and Benjamin Wessley Sanders. She married Wilbern "Pip" Pippins on Oct. 12, 1946, in Corpus Christi and was a private caretaker. She was a member of Beeville Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling, playing golf, tennis and table games. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wessley and Audrey Sanders; her husband, Wilbern "Pip" Pippins; a son, Wilbern Wesley "Butch" Pippins; and a sister, Frances "Friss" Richardson. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lee and Betty Jean Pippins, both of Beeville; a sister, Peggy Lennert of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Billy (Robbie) Sanders and Jimmy B. (Margaret) Sanders, both of Corpus Christi. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service was conducted Tuesday, July 9, at 2 p.m. at Beeville Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Stowe officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Wesley Sanders, John Vogelsang, Jimmy Sanders, Joe Lennert Jr., Harold Butler and Bryan Butler. Honorary pallbearers were Natasha Sanders, Shane Sanders, Charlie Sanders, Ham Richardson, David Kocain, Chris Lennert and Steve Smith. Memorial donations may be made to the Beeville Baptist Church Building Fund.
