Mary Robbins

Mary Stacy Knezek Robbins (94) a long-time resident of George West, Texas, passed away October 15, 2014 at the Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, Texas peacefully with family members present at her bedside after living a long and wonderful life. She will be missed by many. She was born on May 8, 1920 in Gonzales, Texas to Emil Frank Knezek and Annie Mary Kuban. She was married at Rockport, Texas in December 24, 1941 to an Army soldier. During WWII, she volunteered at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, Texas while her husband was serving in WWII overseas; she was a housewife, retail automotive repair garage owner, and rancher who had lived many years in Aransas Pass, Texas and finally settling in George West with her husband of 62 years of marriage. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Edward Carlos Robbins (90), a veteran of WWII. She was the last of her total immediate family of 10 siblings of the Emil Knezek family of Gonzales, Texas. She was survived by her sons: Ralph Edward Robbins of Portland, Texas, Frank Aaron Robbins of El Paso, Texas, Robert Gayle Robbins of Salina, Kansas; and daughter Sharon Kay Work of George West, Texas; and numerous other family members. Pallbearers are: Ralph Robbins, Frank Robbins, Robert Robbins, Sr., Philip Williamson, Bobby Garcia, Jr., Edward Garcia, with an alternate pallbearer Robert Robbins Jr. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West, Texas.
