Mary was born in Beeville, Texas, on July 4, 1942. She attended school in Beeville, graduating from A. C. Jones High School in 1960. After moving to Shreveport, Louisiana, she worked as a bookkeeper at Centenary College, Schumpert Medical Center, and Camus Electric.
Mary loved working in her yard and was known for her gift of bringing flowers and plants back to life. You could easily find her sitting on her back patio with a cup of coffee watching the butterflies and hummingbirds fly from bloom to bloom. When she wasn’t gardening, she enjoyed collecting antiques and going to estate sales. Mary could always find a good bargain! She will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends and dogs, Murphy and Little Man.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MD Anderson or Abandoned Animal Rescue on her behalf at www.mdanderson.org or www.aartexas.org .
