Mary Valdez

Mary A. Valdez, 73, of Beeville, died Friday, March 4, 2016. Mrs. Valdez was born Jan. 25, 1943, in Driscoll to Eldifonso Sustaita and Olivia Rodriguez. She married Mario Valdez on Feb. 12, 1958, in Alice. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, worked as a day care teacher and was the Director of PEP for BISD. Survivors include her husband, Mario Valdez of Beeville; mother, Olivia Rodriguez of Arizona; three sons, Arturo Valdez of Corpus Christi, Ricardo (Lisa) Valdez of San Antonio and Marcos (Sandra Hernandez) Valdez of Beeville; a daughter, Anna Valdez of Beeville; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 7, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel with a rosary recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Interment will follow in the Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jacob Michael Montoya, Lucas Alexander Barrington, Ramiro Ricardo Valdez, Eloy Rodriguez, Felipo Vazquez, John Salinas, and Archie Ruiz.
