Mary Zowarka

Mary Louise (Buckholdt) Zowarka, 85, of Beeville, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Mrs. Zowarka was born Oct. 3, 1926, in San Antonio to Ferdinand Charles and Hazel May (Hawlowetz) Buckholdt. She married Raymond Charles Zowarka Sr. in San Antonio and was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand and Hazel Buckholdt; her husband, Raymond Zowarka Sr.; and a brother, Fred Buckholdt. Survivors include a son, Ray Zowarka of Austin; five daughters, Paula (Bobby) Ivy and Melanie (Tom) Crosier, both of Waller, Bobbie Hill, Wendy (Phillip) Juranek and Lauren (Jimmy) Menn, all of Beeville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Punky Holbrook and Josephine Savary, both of San Antonio, and Patricia Stein of Cedar Park. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 6:30. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in the Zowarka family cemetery.
