Mauro Garcia Sr., 89, of Beeville, formerly of Pawnee, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015. Mr. Garcia was born Nov. 30, 1925, in Montielo to Petra (Trevino) and Feliberto Johnson Garcia. He married Dominga Pena in Karnes City on April 2, 1947, and was a retired laborer and a Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Vidal Garcia; a daughter, Audelia Gutierrez; a great-grandson; and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Dominga Pena Garcia of Beeville; 10 children, Lillie (James) Woods and Maclovia (Robert) Garmany, both of Houston, Gilbert (Deliah) Garcia, Mary Helen Lino, Ramon (Carmen) Garcia, Gloria White and Synthia (Odell) Ivy, all of Beeville, Mauro Garcia Jr. and Sylvia (Robert) Ochoa, both of Pasadena, and Ramiro (George) Garcia of Kingwood; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel with a prayer service that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral service will be conducted there Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. with Chaplain Tim Henson officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bryan Garcia, John Lino, Scott Madrigal, Billy Joe Guevarra, Anthony Portillo and Isaac Lino. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Ochoa and Carlos Cantu.
