Max Luna

Max Luna, 83, went Home to his Lord on November 4, 2015. He was born on October 5, 1932 to Tomas and Ricarda Griego Luna in Purta de Luna, New Mexico. He married Patricia Chesshir on May 30, 1958. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of the Beeville Rotary Club, the Bee County Western Week Committee, as well as the St. Peregrine Society of St. Joseph. Max served as a teacher and principal for the Beeville Independent School District for 30 years. He also proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and the Vietnam War as Master Chief. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his son Mitchell Luna and wife Judy, his daughter, Stephanie Luna-Griggs of San Antonio; beloved grandchildren, Ryan O'Donnell (Matt), Ashley Luna (Jake), Samantha Griggs and Sydney Griggs, and one beloved great grandchild, Madison Dixon. He is also survived by brothers and sisters Abe Padilla of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Terry Cruz of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Nick Padilla of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Eloisa Block of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Thomas Luna of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Beeville, Texas, followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville, Texas. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery in Beeville, Texas. Pallbearers will be Jim Scotten, Jake Dixon, John Johnson, Bill Shroyer, John Kircher and Pat Kelly. Honorary pallbearer is Clint Cowart.
