Maximina Maria "Mary" Rodriguez

Our dear mother, Maximina Maria "Mary" Rodriguez, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 22, 2024. She was 96 years old.

Maximina was born January 25, 1928, in General Cepeda, Mexico to Jose Angel Torres and Selestina (Picazo) Torres. She retired from Three Rivers Independent School District after numerous years of dedicated service. Mary was a wonderful mother who was always there when she was needed the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. She raised her six children as best she could, with the little she had, for that they have always loved and cherished her. She loved the Lord and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed listening to music and loved to dance, but her favorite pastime was reading. She also enjoyed watching her novelas.

Surrounded by her family, Mary goes to join her husband, Pablo Rodriguez; her father, Jose Angel Torres; her mother, Selestina Picazo Torres; her brother, Antonio Torres; twin brother, Juventino Torres; her son, Daniel "Danny" Casarez; granddaughter, Sally Saenz; and great-grandson, Levi Saenz.

Left behind to cherish precious memories of their beloved mother include her children, John (Delia) Casarez of Red Oak, Texas, Manuel Casarez of Pharr, Yolanda (Michael) Goynes of George West, Sylvia Lugo of Corpus Christi and Rachel (Pete) Casares of Maxwell, Texas; as well as 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West with the funeral service at 1 o’clock that afternoon. Pastor Trevor Hanson of Oakville Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the George West Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Antonio C. Lugo, Diego A. Ramirez, Michael A. Casarez, Tyler Casarez Heaney, Brendon Elijah Saenz and Beau Saenz.
