Michael Davis

Michael Wayne Davis, 77, of Three Rivers, Texas, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022.

Michael was born August 28, 1944 in Highlands, Texas to Archie Sherman Davis and Viola Mae (McKay) Davis. He was a 1962 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas, and married Connie Dell Sanders on November 19, 1972 in Liberty, Texas. He moved to Three Rivers in 1985 taking a job at the Diamond Shamrock (Valero) Refinery in Three Rivers working as maintenance supervisor. He was employed at the refinery for more than 10 years before retiring. He was a member of the Baptist faith and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Viola Davis; his wife, Connie Dell (Sanders) Davis; and brothers, Sherman Lee Davis and Fred Paul Davis.

Survivors include three sons, Randall Earl Davis (Tonya Gaither) of Three Rivers, John Michael Davis (Rhonda Gomez) of Corpus Christi and John Wesley Taylor of Three Rivers; six grandchildren, Dustin Taylor, Machera Taylor, Hannah Davis, Kyleigh Davis, Zachary Davis and Brayden Davis; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, January 13, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers followed by a memorial service at 6 o’clock with Gilda Ruiz officiating.

Family will hold a private burial at a later date.
