Michaela Ybanez

Michaela Ybanez, 77, went home to her Lord on February 26, 2017. She was born on June 15, 1939, to Dionicio and Juanita (Cortez) Garcia in Oakville, Texas. She married Ismael “Rey” Ybanez in November of 1962, in George West, Texas. She was a faithful member of St. George Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Juan Garcia, Manuel Garcia; and her sister, Maria Garcia.

Survivors include her husband, Ismael “Rey” Ybanez of George West, Texas; son, Chris (Veronica) Ybanez of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Lisa Longoria of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Marcus Ybanez, Matthew Ybanez, Bianca Ramirez, Clarissa Longoria, Jose Marcos Cruz and David Anthony Longoria; eight great-grandchildren, Lynessa, Devin, Machaela, Serenity, Evonnia, Robert Rene, Christian and Kyleigh; and sister, Carmen Moreno of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West with a rosary recited there that evening at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017, at St. George Catholic Church in George West with Father George Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery in George West.

Pallbearers will be David Longoria, Adolfo Moreno, Jr., Reynaldo Garcia, Marcus Ybanez, Crispin Moreno and Raul “Pepe” Garcia.
