On June 17, 2014, our beloved mother and dear friend to many, Nancy Ann Harris Shavor, age 74, crossed over to join her "Heavenly" family and friends and prepare the way for the rest of us, in the fashion she was so apt to do. Always the caregiver, Nancy knew she needed to arrive early and make sure everything was perfect for the "Reunion" when we all arrive. Nancy was born November 10th 1939 and quickly snatched up by the wonderful John and Burniece Harris, where she spent her toddler and adolescence years in Tuleta, TX. Moving to San Antonio at age 12, Nancy formed lifelong friendships, having attended Alamo Heights and St. Mary's High Schools... whereby she still attended annual "reunions" until her passing. Arriving back in Beeville in 1974 after living in New Mexico and West Texas, Nancy immediately renewed lifelong friendships and created new ones that remain today. Her heart and her soul never left Beeville. Raising 4 children, Nancy developed a wonderful passion for cooking, entertaining, and crossing all age groups for friendships. Her home was a revolving door for kids, grandkids, and friends to always feel loved and welcomed. Her love to be surrounded by family, friends and laughter never diminished. Any chance for a "reunion" was a chance for Nancy to shine. If Nancy was able to give each of you one piece of advice, it would be to always be kind; get together; and laugh... she will be there waiting... to do the same for you... another reunion. Nancy is preceded in death by her father; mother, John and Burniece Harris, and one granddaughter, Addison Scout Deaton. Nancy leaves behind three sons and one daughter, and their respective families and partners: Todd Addison (Samye May), Kirk Addison (Blake Yelavich), Jay Addison (children-Ellen, Avery and Reece Addison), Kristen Neal (Bryan Neal: children-Asa Neal and Micah Neal). Nancy also leaves behind her wonderful and special lifelong friends and extended families; the list is way too long to write. We will miss you everyday Nancy. Here's to our next reunion. A visitation will be held at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Don Taylor officiating and music provided by pianist John Lewis Blackburn. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
