Norma Jean Chamrad

Norma Jean (Burns) Chamrad of Beeville, Texas, passed from this life into the next on April 2, 2024, at the age of 86.

Norma was born December 6, 1937, in Kenedy, Texas, to Ada Belle (Warner) and Robert Richard Burns, Sr. She married Donald Lee Chamrad on May 18, 1968, in Beeville. Norma had been a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1957 and was involved in different organizations including the Mother’s Club, Beefmaster Belles, Bee County Historical Society, The Beeville Art Association and the Wednesday Luncheon Club.

Norma’s greatest love was her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed decorating, especially at Christmas. Being outdoors tending to her plants and flowers and spending time as an avid bird watcher brought her much joy. Her family and friends will fondly remember her delicious 7-Up pound cake and Mincemeat Oatmeal Krispies which were such a special treat.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Robert Richard Burns, Jr.

Survivors include her husband of almost 56 years, Don Chamrad; her son, Charlie (Roxanne) Porter; daughters, Kim (Steve) Huddleston, Lisa (Craig) Hardin and Kara (Russell) Wood; as well as her loving grandchildren, Jeff (Mindy) Huddleston, Jessica (Bryan) Chappelear, Travis (Mary Ashleigh) Huddleston, Morgan (Amanda) Porter, Maegan (Stephen) Kosub, Allison (TJ) Wilburn, Laura Beth (Riley) Totten, Jana (Josh) Henderson, Josh (Tarrah) Wood and Sidney (Brandon) Gutierrez; her sister, Barbara (Lyle) Prouse; and 21 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
