Norma Williams

Norma Faye (Brown) Williams was born June 14, 1935 in Taylor, Arkansas and died September 9, 2014 in George West, Texas. She was the daughter of the late W.N. and Bertie Mae (Stevens) Brown. She married the love of her life, Gene L. Williams, September 22, 1956 in Anson, Texas. They resided in Benavidez, Texas, moving to George West in 1967. Norma was a wife, mother, homemaker, seamstress, bridge player, and all around community volunteer. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene L. Williams; a son, W. Bryan Williams; a son-in-law, Clayson D. Royal; and six sisters, Ilene Swink, Gwendolyn Shelton, Mary Green, Ginger Brown, Sybil Brown, and Donnie Beth Brown. She is survived by two daughters, Jamye Royal and Jeri (Bill) Davis of Alabama; also a foreign exchange "daughter," Aafke (Hank) Prinsen of the Netherlands; grandchildren, Ryan (Joey) Royal, Jayson (Lindsey Ammann) Royal, Taylor (Cameron) Younts, Billy Davis, Jacob Davis and Paige Davis; also, Mark Prinsen and Anke Prinen of the Netherlands; great-grandchildren, Carolyne Royal, Jayse Alvarado, Cadence Younts and Clayson Younts; sisters, Clarice (Roy) Server, Stella (Glen) Kramer and Jacqulyn (Dwain) Wall; brother, Bill (Lee) Brown; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews; and all those who knew her as "Granny." Visitation was held from 5 PM- 7 PM on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West, Texas. Funeral services were conducted at 10 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at First Baptist Church in George West, Texas with Rev. Bruce Irving officiating. Interment followed at George West Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Davis, Billy Davis, Jacob Davis, Ryan Royal, Jayson Royal and Cameron Younts.
