Olaia Fuentes

Olaia (Lopez) Fuentes, 72, of George West, died Saturday, July 1, 2017. Mrs. Fuentes was born Nov. 1, 1944, in Curtis, Ohio, to Susie Lopez and Lorenzo Fuentes. She married Pete Ortiz in Ruby and was a health care provider. She enjoyed reading books. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1970; a sister, Rebecca Fuentes; and a brother, Henry Fuentes. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Fuentes of Alabama; three grandchildren, Lorenzo, Isaiah and Brianna; four sisters, Rachel Ponce (Jesse) of San Antonio, Elodia Fuentes and Lilly Pardo, both of George West, and Lucy Valdez of Lubbock; and two brothers, Lorenzo (Elodia) Fuentes Jr. of George West and Raul Rincon of Alabama. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 8, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in George West with Mr. Mario Pardo officiating.

Burial will be at a later date.
