Olga Guadalupe "Lupita" Garcia

Olga Guadalupe “Lupita” Garcia, 74, of Three Rivers, Texas passed away in a San Antonio hospital on Friday, April 12, 2024.

Lupita was born December 15, 1949, in Three Rivers to Victor Fernandez and Dora (Flores) Fernandez. She was a graduate of Three Rivers High School and married David L. “Bear” Garcia on January 16, 1970. Fondly known for her commitment to education, Lupita served as school secretary and retired after 35 years at Three Rivers Elementary. After retirement, she loved being a grandmother, participating in a coffee club and family bingo night.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Dora Fernandez; her husband, David L. “Bear” Garcia; her son, David Ray Garcia Sr.; and two brothers, Danny Fernandez and George Fernandez.

Lupita will be dearly missed by her daughters, Gracie Garcia and Letty (Steve) Martinez, both of Three Rivers; and a son, Luis Albert (Kristy) Garcia of Three Rivers. After the passing of her beloved son, David R. Garcia, Lupita raised his children as her own, Davann R. Garcia and David R. “JuJu” Garcia. Also missing their “Nana” are Kyle Garcia, Kylee Garcia, Kristopher Garcia, Ricky Raimond Jr., Syriz Martinez and Steve Martinez Jr; and great-grandchildren, Zayden M. Rodriguez and Easton B. Raimond.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o’clock that evening.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Burial will follow in the Three Rivers Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Garcia, David “JuJu” Garcia, Syriz Martinez, Ricky Raimond, Victor Fernandez and Danny Fernandez Jr.

Robert Garcia, Steve Martinez, Kristopher Garcia, Tom Kubena and Steve Martinez Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
