Otilia (Padilla) Rubio, 97, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Beeville, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010. Mrs. Rubio was born April 10, 1913, in Beeville to Cecilia (Rubio) and Michael Padilla. She married Sostenes A. Rubio and was a homemaker and a Catholic. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sostenes A. Rubio; two daughters, Lydia and Lilly Rubio; and three sons, Willie, Ramiro and Sostenes Rubio Jr. Survivors include three sons, Mike P. Rubio of Alvarado, Jesse P. Rubio of Mount Pleasant and Jimmy P. (Susan) Rubio of Shreveport, La.; a brother, David (Olivia) Vargas of Beeville; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Visitation was held from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons Chapel. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Eugene Ronan officiating. Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2. Pallbearers were Willie Rubio Jr., Sam Rubio, David Carlos Rubio, Israel Flores Rubio, Russell Prandy and Eric Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Javier Alfaro and Jesse J. Rubio.
