Otto Goebel, Jr.

Otto Goebel, Jr., 84, passed away on June 29, 2014. He was born to Otto Goebel Sr. and Sofie Weiding Goebel on August 31, 1929, in Oakville, Texas. He is a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Margaret Mills on September 28, 1955, and they resided in Live Oak County. He was a rancher and worked for oil field services, as well. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Margaret "Sissy" Goebel of George West; two daughters, Dr. Roxanne Robertson and husband, Kevin of Corpus Christi, and Margaret Brown of George West; two sons, Luke Goebel and wife, Tari of Oakville, and Harlyn Goebel and wife, Janna of Oakville; ten grandchildren, Justin Meeks and wife, Lauren, Booky Goebel and wife, Brooke, Brandi McClendon and husband, Turel, Blanton Robertson and wife, Ashleigh, Brittany Harrod and husband, Wood, Harleigh Goebel, Hondo Goebel, Dillion Mundorf, Dustin Mundorf, and Denver Watkins, and husband, Ryan; eight great-grandchildren, Avery Goebel, Tagg McClendon, Alexa Goebel, Maddox Otto Meeks, Cy McClendon, Harper Harrod, Clay Watkins, and Maggie Watkins. A celebration of Otto's life will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at The Brush Country Cowboy Church. Interment will follow at the Oakville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randall Rosebrock, Greg Goebel, Gordon Goebel, Jeffrey Goebel, Booky Goebel, Blanton Robertson, Justin Meeks, and Hondo Goebel. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Colle, Jerome Dugosh, Poochie Lyne, Larry Talley, Roy Jones, Joe Pete Barnes, Russell Snyder, Vincent Roberts, Jack Meeks, Charlie Robertson, Richard Brown, and Kevin Henning.
