Patricia Lee (Pat) Herzog passed away peacefully on October 16, 2015 after a brief illness. She was 86 years old. Pat was born on April 23, 1929 to Lester and Mary (Frans) Long in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1946 and attended Hastings Business College in 1947. That same year, Pat married Sterling Swinney in Nebraska City, Nebraska and traveled throughout the United States while she was married to Sterling. In 1980, Pat married Robert (Bob) Herzog in Sinton, Texas. She and Bob made their home in Beeville where Pat spent most of her life. Pat was employed at A.C. Jones High School for 16 years until her retirement in 1991. She was a very active member of Providence Presbyterian Church and an avid bridge player. She is preceded in death by her parents and husbands. She is survived by her sons Michael (Nancy) Swinney of Houston, Texas, Danny Swinney of Temple, Texas and Mark Swinney of Palito Blanco, Texas; stepchildren Richard (Kelly) Herzog of Rockport, Texas, Robert (Pam) Herzog of Skidmore, Texas and Katy (Larry) Epperson of George West, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Beeville. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday October 20, 2015 at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George E. Lacy, Jr. of Providence Presbyterian Church conducting services. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Sean Swinney, Gavin Swinney, Lance Swinney, Richard Lee Herzog, Derek Herzog and Steven Herzog. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
