Paul P. Olivares, 85, of Beeville, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016. Mr. Olivares was born June 22, 1931, in Gregory to Raquel (Perez) and Rafael Olivares. He was retired from Central Power and Light Co. and was a Baptist. He married Laura Garcia in Beeville in 1951, and was a rancher and enjoyed racing horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Raquel Olivares; his wife, Laura Olivares; five brothers, Jose, Margarito, Tiburcio, Lazaro and Manuel Olivares; two sisters, Eusebia Esparza and Marcella Flores; and two nephews, Ralph Avila and Antonio Toscano. Survivors include a son, Paul Ralph (Debra) Olivares of Beeville; two daughters, Melva Olivares (Mike) Willow and Luz Raquel Olivares, both of Beeville; three sisters, Anita O. Castillo, Elia O. Alvarado and Yolanda O. Silva, all of Beeville; a brother, Fermin (Rosa) Olivares of Beeville; two sisters-in-law, Alicia F. Olivares and Mary Olivares; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mike Willow Jr., Paul Willow, Richard Frank Willow, Eiden Cano Jr., Daniel Paul Cano, Dustin Gregory Cano and Logan Olivares.
