Pedro Carrizales

Pedro (Pete) E. Carrizales passed away peacefully and began his journey to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday August 22, 2016, in Houston Texas. Pete was born August 20, 1934, in Normanna, TX to Santiago and Lenora Carrizales. In 1956, he married Olga Cortinas. They were divorced in 1988. Pete supported his family with a variety of jobs throughout his lifetime and when the economy weakened he moved his family from Corpus Christi to Houston where he joined his brother Nick, as a welder often working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico for weeks at a time and later in life worked as a security guard. He was a great provider to his family. His generosity, charity and compassion for his fellow man is well known, as those that knew him bear witness to the fact that he opened his doors and sheltered many people in their time of need. At one time this generosity and compassion was rewarded with a faithful son-in-law, Carlos. Pete is survived by his brother, Margil Carrizales; his sisters, Maria Elia Chavez and Eva Zapata; his daughters, Yvonne C. Meltzer and Mary Saenz; his sons, Peter R. Carrizales, Paul N. Carrizales, and Thomas J. Carrizales; and his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Galloway Funeral Home, 409 North Tyler St. in Beeville TX. Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 609 E. Gramman St. in Beeville with burial at Tuleta Cemetery in Tuleta. A gathering of family and friends for fellowship and a celebration of Pete Carrizales' life will follow at Beeville Community Center, 400 N. Washington, Beeville TX.
