Pedro “Pete” Rodriguez, Jr.

Pedro “Pete” Rodriguez Jr. was born on December 15, 1958, in Three Rivers, Texas. He was the beloved son of Pedro Rodriguez Sr. and Francisca (Cuevas) Rodriguez. Pete passed away on December 28, 2023, at a San Antonio hospital at the age of 65.

He was a graduate of George West High School and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers. He dedicated his life to serving others through his career as a correctional officer. After many years of dedicated service, he retired from his state and county jobs. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Rodriguez Sr.; a sister, Olga Rodriguez; and a brother, John Albert Rodriguez.

Left behind to mourn their loved one’s passing include his mother, Francisca Rodriguez of Three Rivers; two daughters, Denise (Travis) Lee and Jocelyn (Sue Ellen) Rodriguez, both of Dallas; a brother, Jesse “J.R.” (Sally) Rodriguez of Three Rivers; his grandson, Austin Patrick Lee; four nieces; four nephews; and numerous cousins and friends. 

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o’clock that evening.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. George Catholic Cemetery in George West.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Valverde, Fernando Cuevas, Felipito Cuevas, David Garcia, Zak Rodriguez and Michael Rodriguez.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Rodriguez and John Rodriguez.
