Peter F. Malek, 75, of Beeville, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010. Mr. Malek was born in Ceske Budejovice, Czechoslovakia, on Sept. 6, 1935, to Frank and Mary (Jansky) Malek. He married Carolyn Marie Mueller in Beeville on June 11, 1958. He held a bachelor's degree from Texas A&I in Kingsville in served in the U.S. Navy at NAS Chase Field. He retired as vice president of Commercial National Bank after 20 years and opened his own insurance business in 1986, for which he received many awards. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Knights of Columbus, the Texas Leader's Round Table, the Million Dollar Round Table and was a former member of the 20-30 Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carolyn Marie Malek, on Aug. 12, 2005. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Guresky and Ruby Mueller of Beeville; seven nieces; one nephew; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation was held from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Galloway & Sons Funeral chapel. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7:30. The funeral Mass was conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale McNallen, Richard Guerrero, Chris Post, Mark Johnson, Michael Guresky and Tom Leverett.
