Philip "Phil" M. Russell, age 57, passed away December 21, 2013 in Beeville, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Russell; 2 sons, Aaron Russell & wife, Kristal of Keller, TX and Jonathan Russell & wife, Dusty of Converse, TX; a daughter, Stephanie Delgado & husband, Lupe of San Antonio, TX; his mother, Maxine Ingle & husband, Tommy of Beeville, TX; mother-in-law, Jo Shouse of Mission, TX; brothers, James Shouse, Jeff Ingle and Jason Ingle; sisters, Laurie Hubbard and Kerri Ingle; 9 grandchildren and many aunts, uncles and cousins whom he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his father, James (Ed) Russell; sister-in-law, Sondra Cole; and father-in-law, James Shouse. He began in ministry at age 15 and served the Lord in music and word for 42 years. Along life's way he perfected many professions and touched many lives. He graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Master in Liberal Arts and a minor in Criminal Justice, & received his Texas Teachers Certificate in 1998. Phil worked 6 years as a mortician's assistant in Lufkin, he worked for the Dallas District Attorneys office, taught Criminal Justice at A.C. Jones High School, Skidmore-Tynan High School and Coastal Bend College. He taught in the Wyndham ISD with Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice and was an Institutional Parole Officer with TDCJ. Phil was pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Beeville when he STEPPED through Heaven's Gates. A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church in Beeville, TX. In lieu of flowers a scholarship fund will be set up for the Criminal Justice class at the A.C. Jones High School.
