R.C. Jeanes, 90, of Beeville, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Mr. Jeanes was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Nashville, Ark., to Rosie Wagner and George W. Jeanes. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He married Evelyn Hamilton in Nashville, Ark., on May 7, 1948, and was the pastor of Cadiz Baptist Church for 44 years and taught for the Beeville ISD for 27 years. He was a member of the Beeville Retired Teachers Organization, TSTA, NEA and Cadiz Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Hiram Jeanes, J.T. Jeanes and Marvin Jeanes; amd two sisters, Lola Chandler and Lucy Lawrence. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Jeanes of Beeville; a daughter, Pamela Jeanes of Beeville; a brother, B.J. Jeanes of Tempe, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. The funeral service was conducted there that afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Greg Traylor officiating. Musical selections were provided by organist Everett McAulay and vocalist Bob Granger and included "Beulah Land," "I Can Only Imagine" and "Amazing Grace." Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Danny Dunham, Larry Lee, Chris Freund, Joe Linnstaedter, Chuck Richmond, Leon Swetlik, Garrett Tindol and Erwin Massengale. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Schellar, Pat McGregor, Kenneth Hale, Kenneth Freasier, Richard Weisinger, Louis McGill, Reuben Perez, Maurice Govella, Reagan Rindol, Thomas Lawson, John Amthor, Pat Kelly, Robert Awalt and Jack Stewart.
