Ramon Ruiz

Ramon Sanchez Ruiz, 93, went home to his Lord on October 13, 2016. He was born on August 31, 1923 to Mariano and Jesusa (Sanchez) Ruiz in Whitsett, Texas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Rosa Mauricio on August 15, 1943 in Whitsett. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a long time rancher, and he later went to work for Live Oak County. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Rosa. Survivors include his children, Delia Ruiz (Damacio) of Three Rivers, Arturo Ruiz (Mary) of Three Rivers, George L. Ruiz (Margie) of Three Rivers, Juan E. Ruiz of Three Rivers, Gloria Faye Schmidt of Whitsett, and Amelia Bartlett of Whitsett; 21 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; sister, Socorro Mauricio of Whitsett; and brother, Jose Ruiz of Whitsett. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers with a rosary recited there that evening at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Whitsett. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Oscar Ruiz, Orlando Ruiz, Robert Ruiz, Christopher Ruiz, Carlos Guajardo, Steve Guajardo, Michael Ruiz, Benjamin Hinojosa, Jacob Schmidt; and great grandsons, Andrew Gutierrez, Matthew Gutierrez, and Joshua Chabera.
