Ramon Ruiz

Ramon Ruiz, 71, of George West died on May 2, 2013. Mr. Ruiz was born on May 10, 1941 in Alice, Texas to Jose and Silveria DelaGarza Ruiz. He married Maria Munoz on August 19, 1965 in George West. He worked as a mechanic for Diamond Shamrock and was a member of St. George Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Silveria Ruiz, sisters Delia Alaniz and Virginia R. Garcia, and a brother, Santos Ruiz. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Maria Ruiz of George West, three children, Mike Ruiz (Lisa) of Three Rivers, Missy Rodriguez (Isacc) of George West, Margie Mitchell (Mark) of George West, brothers Marcos Ruiz (Geneva) of Corpus Christi and Rosendo Ruiz (Yolanda) of George West, sister Elodia Chapa (Obdio) of George West, aunt Abelina Lopez (Manuel), six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation was held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Galloway Funeral Chapel in George West with a rosary following at St. George Catholic Church. Services were held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 2PM with Monsignor Howel of Corpus Christi conducting. Pallbearers were Robert Ruiz, Billy Chapa, Wally Garcia, Victor Mercado Jr., Arnulfo Guerrero, Christopher Alaniz, Hilario Lopez, Agapito Lopez, and Bobby Alaniz. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Alniz, Martin Alaniz, J.D. Ruiz, Sone Lopez, Adan Lopez and Cruz Reyes.
