Richard Hedrick

Richard Wayne Hedrick, 77, of Corpus Christi, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014. Mr. Hedrick was born July 4, 1936, in Snomac, Okla., to Lela (Griffith) and James Clarence Hedrick. He married Gloria Ortiz in Las Vegas, Nev., on Sept. 20, 1998. He was retired and a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lela Hedrick; a twin brother, Robert "Bobby" Hedrick; and a sister, Bonnie Lavon Bass. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Hedrick of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Karen Hedrick and Kathy Hedrick Hardy, both of Beeville; two granddaughters, Jessica Rivas and Stephanie Rivas; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Underdown of Victoria. Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 3, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in George West. A graveside service followed at 11 a.m. at George West Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Underdown, Bob Underdown, Charlie Lindholm, Rodger Holmes, Logan Underdown and Marc Pullin. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Holmes, Walter Holmes and Butch Kaase.
