Robert Sidney Dallas, 81, of Beeville, Texas, passed away March 16, 2025. Throughout his life, Robert remained a devoted member of his family and community, embodying the values of service, faith, and love.
Robert was born August 22, 1943, in Moore, Texas and raised by his adopted parents, Rama Taylor Dallas and Lois (Hudson) Dallas. After high school graduation and some college, he served honorably in the U.S. Army, showcasing his commitment to his country. He married Linda Harris on May 20, 1968, in Beeville and was of the Methodist faith. Robert’s journey in life led him to a career in civil service, where he dedicated many years before retiring from Naval Air Station Chase Field in Beeville.
Among his proudest accomplishments, Robert was a cherished father to his two daughters and his son and a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 56 years, Linda A. Dallas, with whom he shared a deep bond of love and partnership. He was well known for his unwavering faith and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, finding tranquility unwinding at the lake and engaging in his favorite hobby of hunting for catfish.
Robert possessed remarkable talents including fixing anything, whether it was broken cars, tools or lending a helping hand to a neighbor in need. His skilled hands could mend it all, reflecting the generous spirit he consistently displayed.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Merion and Alma DuBose; as well as his adopted parents, Rama and Lois Dallas; and two brothers, Jerrel Earl DuBose and Merion George DuBose.
Left behind to cherish fond memories include his wife, Linda A. Dallas of Beeville; his children, Marla Mulvany, Darla Dallas and Brian Dallas; and three grandchildren, Kiryn Sutton, Braden Sutton and Kayla Mulvany.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville.
The funeral service will be conducted there at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19 with Pastor Pat Traxler officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Dallas, Trey Phillips, Willard Joe Fox and Garry Sugarek.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Robert’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans at Dav.org.
