Robert Milton "Bob" Hardman, 74, of Beeville, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016, after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born October 28,1941, in Akron, Ohio, to Wayne Ellsworth "Jack" and Phyllis Grace (Rhoades) Hardman. On August 26,1967, he married Carolyn Montoya Smith and her children, Lonnie and Connie, in San Diego, California. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 until retiring in 1982. After settling in Beeville, he worked as an independent contractor. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed working with his hands and spending time with family. His integrity and work ethic were admired by all who knew him. He was an honest, hard-working man who never met a stranger and was well-liked by everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Sean Patrick Hardman; and his brothers, Charles Macklin Hardman and Wayne Donald Hardman. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hardman; his children Lonnie (Evelyn) Smith of Houston, Connie (Dr. James) Hatfield of Beeville and Teri (Jeff) Kennedy of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Exclusive Home Health and Hospice and especially Janette, for the gentle care he received. Visitation will be held at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, May 5, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. with rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Private family burial will held at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
