Roy Lee Freeze of Aransas Pass and formerly of Beeville, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the age of 92.
Mr. Freeze was born January 10, 1929 in Beeville to William Andy Freeze and Jewell (Jones) Freeze. He married Dolores (Hurst) Freeze on August 12, 1962 in Beeville. He was employed at the Port Aransas Ferry Boat as a Captain for 38 years.
Mr. Freeze had a sweet tooth and really enjoyed all the pies Mrs. Freeze made. The family always kidded him that he didn’t take insulin for diabetes but so he could eat her pies and cake. The two were quite the pair and he missed her greatly following her death. Now they are reunited in Heaven.
His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was a shy man in his expression, but he loved them all dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Jewell Freeze; his wife, Ell Dolores (Hurst) Freeze; and a son, Gordon Freeze.
Survivors include three sons, Willis G. Freeze, Kelvin Garth Freeze (Terrie) and Randall Lee Freeze (Naomi); a daughter, Jeanie (Wayne) Swain; grandchildren Ryan, Kody, Chelsea, Corey, Kyle, Westley, Britteny, Rachel, Kristian and Miranda; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Shirley Stewart; brother-in-law, Tollie (Bobbie) Hurst; brother, Lawrence (Artie) Freeze; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Glenwood Cemetery with Pastor Donald Volz of Crossroads Church officiating.
