Sam Fore Keach, Jr., 50, went home to his Lord on May 23, 2017. He was born on January 1, 1967, to Sam and Vicki (Jackson) Keach, Sr. in Edinburg, Texas. He graduated from Robstown High School and Southwest Texas State University. He married Kristy Champagne on July 17, 1993, in Beeville, Texas. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of George West and was Ranch Manager for Brooks Ranch. He was a member and Assistant Chief of Swinney Switch Volunteer Fire Department, Live Oak County Fair Board, Superintendent of the cattle division, former member and Assistant Secretary of GWISD School Board and was a live stock showing mentor. He is an Eagle Scout.
Sam could be found at a BBQ cook off, or at a livestock show tending lambs and goats with his daughters. He is remembered for being a caring, loving, helping hand to anyone in need and an ever friendly servant of his community. He took great pride in his two daughters, Katelyn and Kailey, both students at Texas Tech University, and their endeavors.
He is survived by his wife, Kristy Keach of Swinney Switch, Texas; daughters, Katelyn Keach and Kailey Keach both of Lubbock, Texas; parents; Sam and Vicki Keach of Robstown and Corpus Christi, Texas; brother, Darrell (Wendy) Keach of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Kim (Morris) Eddy of Kendalia, Texas; brothers-in-law, Kyle (Donna) Champagne of Pettus, Texas; Keith (Sharon) Champagne of Bedford, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in George West, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Live Oak County Coliseum in George West. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Sam Howze, Bob Howze, Bernie Mokry, Brian Thompson, Andrew Guerra, Trey Northcott, Rodney Butler, Kenneth McElroy, Tim Weiding and Bill Holland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Bluntzer, Lon C. Messer, Garnett T. Brooks, Kellan Coffin, Alfonso Anzo, Tony Kaase and the Swinney Switch Volunteer Fire Department.
Sam will be honored with a fire department honor guard by fire departments from Live Oak, Bee and San Patricio counties.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Swinney Switch Volunteer Fire Department, First United Methodist Church of George West and Live Oak County Fair Board Association.
