Sara Orrell

Sara Smith Orrell, 85, of Beeville, Texas passed away January 12, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She was born March 13, 1931 to Gordon and Willie Jo (Gunnin) Smith in Bessemer, Alabama. Sara was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She married Kenneth Jay Orrell, Sr. in Fort Worth, Texas on July 31, 1953. Sara was a licensed Vocational Nurse and a member of the St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. She was also a volunteer for the Coastal Bend Blood Bank, a former member of the Beeville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxillary and a member of the St. Philip’s Episcopal Women of the Church.

Sara is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Lillian Daniels; her son, Craig Allen Orrell; and her son in law, Frank Belcher.

Sara is survived by her children, Kenneth Jay Orrell, Jr. and Kathryn Orrell Belcher both of Beeville, TX ; a sister, Betty Hinderson of St. Elmo, Alabama; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.
