Sarah Blankenship

Sarah Helen Pledge Blankenship, 84, passed away on November 13, 2013. She was born on September 4, 1929 in Texon, Regan Co., Texas to John Varney and Carabel (Graves) Pledge. She was the youngest of 5 children. She married Cicero Jourdan "Smokey" Blankenship on December 1, 1945 in Eldorado, Schleicher Co., Texas. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She retired from N.A.S. Chase Field civil service as a bookkeeper. She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 siblings and 1 grandchild. She is survived by her husband, Cicero Jourdan "Smokey" Blankenship; children, Darlene Walser, Ed Blankenship, Alan Blankenship and Carol Bridger; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, Texas.
