Saranne J. Howland

Saranne J. Howland, 85, of Three Rivers, Texas, peacefully passed away on October 2, 2023.

Saranne was born January 4, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Acie Ray Eldred and Bernice (Wessel) Eldred. She married her beloved Harley Howland in November 1985 in Mozier, Illinois. Her devotion to the Catholic faith brought her much joy and inner peace. She dedicated countless years in a remarkable career with Rockwell Collins Aerospace. After retirement, she enjoyed reading and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Acie and Bernice Eldred; and a daughter, Jolene Kay Smith.

Left behind to cherish fond memories include her husband of nearly 39 years, Harley Howland of Three Rivers; five children, Mary Virginia Tibbetts, Michael Wayne Schnell, Peggy Ann Fikir, Anthony Wayne Schnell and Bridget Louise Sheldon; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Urbana, Iowa at a later date.
