Sonnie Gray

Sonnie Gray, 73, of Pottsboro, Texas, passed away suddenly Monday, August 31, 2015 in Live Oak County. He was born in Bonham, Texas on May 29, 1942, son of the late Willie Clyde and Mary LaRue (Herd) Gray. He was preceded in death by his adored wife, Patricia "Patti" Jones Gray. Sonnie will be remembered for his love of all things mechanical. From an early age, he raced cars, motorcycles, jeeps, dragsters and often built his own. His hobby later in life was converting and often building new engines for old Eagle tour buses. He also took great pleasure in helping others with their "toys." Those left to treasure his many memories are his daughters, Sunilynn "Suni" Deskin and husband Roy of Prosper, LeeAnn Davis of Frisco, Shelly Bates and husband Keith of Pottsboro; sister, Wanda Sharp and husband Jerrell of Bedford, TX; eight grandchildren, Linsdey, Drew, Maxwell, Kathryn, Jack, Aaron, Drew and Ty; and one great granddaughter, Ellie; along with many lifelong friends. A memorial service and reception will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015at 4:00 p.m. at Rusty Barn at the Ranch, 8263 County Road 209, Celina, Texas 75009.
