May 22, 1955 — March 22, 2014

Steve Bowman

Steve was born on May 22, 1955 at the Naval hospital in Argentia, Newfoundland to Ernest Gene Bowman and Kay Moody Bowman. He finished his earthly life on March 22, 2014 to begin his heavenly journey, with his beloved wife, Janet; his father and friend, Gene Bowman, who preceded him.

Steve graduated from A. C. Jones High School in 1973. He attended Bee County College and played baseball for the BCC Cougars. He later then attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. He was a surveyor and owned Harris Engineering in Beeville. Steve also managed the Pro Shop at The Beeville Country Club for several years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed all sports, especially Nascar racing and Golf. Steve’s love of golf took him to many local and state tournaments. He won tournaments throughout the State of Texas and the annual Labor Day Invitational Tournament at The Beeville Country Club several times.

Steve is survived by his mother, Kay Bowman of Beeville; a brother, Jackie Bowman and wife, Amy of Cedar Creek; a niece, Kacey Bowman of Victoria; step-mother, Teena Bowman of Mathis; step sisters, Tamra Tindal and husband, Travis of Austin, and Teri Young of Bend, Texas. He is also survived by a large group of school friends, many started from kindergarten together until graduation, and even until his passing. He loved them all and they loved him.

Steve was a gentle man and will be missed everyday by those who cherish his memory; we shall meet again.

A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
