Teresa (Valverde) De Leon of George West passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at the age of 72.
Mrs. De Leon was born March 29, 1946, in Austin to Magdaleno and Josefina (Carvajal) Valverde. She married Jacinto De Leon in George West Jan. 25, 1964. She was a caregiver for more than 35 years and was a member of St. George Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Dora De Leon; three brothers, Luis Valverde, Pablo Valverde and Juan Valverde; and a sister, Guadalupe (Valverde) Luna.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jacinto De Leon of George West; three sons, James Roland (Noelia) De Leon of Corpus Christi, Michael (Alvina) De Leon of Cibolo and Dario De Leon of Karnes City; a daughter, Adriana De Leon (Heron) Juarez of Ben Bolt; and four grandchildren, Justin De Leon, Myranda De Leon, Viviana Juarez and Jacinto Juarez.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. A rosary will be recited there that morning at 10 o'clock followed by a memorial service.
Special songs will include "God Be With You" and "Amazing Grace."
