Thomas Elbert Hamilton, 94, of Beeville, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010. Mr. Hamilton was born on Sept. 15, 1915, in Star to Blanche (Childre) and James Hamilton. He finished his high school education and became a self-employed, land-clearing contractor. He married Gloice Howard on May 10, 1939, in Lampasas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge in Arlington. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Oliver Windell Hamilton, Jack Hamilton, Harrell Hamiton and Eddie Hamilton. Survivors include his wife, Gloice E. Hamilton of Beeville; a daughter, Betty Kay Priddy of Beeville; a son, Robert Howard (Colette) Hamilton of Beeville; a sister, Shirley Ann Duncan of Payne Gap; a granddaughter, Natalie Noel Horton; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Galloway & Sons Funeral chapel. The funeral service was conducted there at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with Rev. Larry McRorey officiating. Special selections included "In the Garden" and "Precious Memories." Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Delbert Howard, Stevie Hamilton, Jimmy Hamilton, Sean Horton, James Taylor, Jack Hamilton, Douglas Hamilton and Neil Hamilton.
