Thomas "T.J." Standiferd, 80, passed away on January 23, 2011. He was born to Edward D. and Ann (Dougherty) Standiferd on June 5, 1930, in Topeka, Kansas. He married Elizabeth Garcia on January 15, 1995, in Sinton, Texas. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Catholic church. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W., and also a member of Chamber of Commerce, American Legion, The Sheriff's Association, and the NRA. He was owner and operator of Mary Martin Packaging Store. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Standiferd of Beeville, TX; step-children, Cheryl Martinez Ahlschlager and husband Randy of Corpus Christi, TX and Lisa Sananikone and husband Don of Cedar Park, TX; sister-in-law, Rosemary Standiferd of Wichita, KS; nephew, Jack Standiferd and wife Darby, of Wichita, KS; niece, Marla Pryor and husband Mike of Blue Springs, TX; great-nieces, Hunter Pryor, Hadley Standiferd, and Chloe Standiferd; and step-grandchildren, Matthew and Victoria Sananikone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ann Standiferd, aunt, Mary Martin Pawelek, brother, Jack Standiferd, Sr., great-nephew, Michael Pryor, great-nieces, Hannah Standiferd and Brooklyn Pryor, niece, Renee Standiferd, and uncle, John Sidelinger. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Private family services will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be Jack Standiferd, Randy Ahlschlager, Don Sananikone, Tony Garcia, Fernie Garza, Jesse Ramirez, and Lawrence Garcia, and Robert Cuevas. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Knight, Tom Smith, and Russell Camden. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
