Tom Brown

Tom Brown, 75, of Beeville, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011. Mr. Brown was born July 29, 1936, in Floresville to Judith Estelle McNiel and Thomas Lendon Brown. He married Billie Davis in San Antonio on March 4, 1956, and was a mechanic for Texaco. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a Mason. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America where he served as scout master for more than 17 years and was awarded The Order of the Arrow and given the name O Mana Pahee "Walking Mountain." He also received the highest award given to a scout master, the Silver Beaver Award. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lendon and Judith McNiel Brown; a son, Andrew "Andy" Brown; a brother, Corky Brown; and an uncle and aunt, August and Lula Hoseck. Survivors include his wife, Billie Brown of Beeville; a son, Keith (Dawn) Brown of San Antonio; two grandchildren, Aaron and Kali Brown of Leander; and a sister, Carolyn (Dan) Bundy of Corpus Christi. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Homer Hannah and Rev. Greg Traylor officiating. Organist Tony Golmon will provide musical selections. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Luis Steenken and the deacons of First Baptist Church.
