Vernon Evans

Vernon R. Evans, 75, of Marble Falls, formerly of Beeville, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013. Mr. Evans was born Aug. 25, 1938, in Oakland, Calif., to Vernon R. Smith and Olive Lucille Hazard Evans. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1975 in the Vietnam War. He married Mary Ann Perez on March 24, 1957, in Sunnyvale, Calif., and worked for the BISD maintenance department. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a daughter, Anita Evans Linnstaedter. Survivors include two sons, John (Deborah) Evans of Marble Falls and Steve (Nancy) Evans of Texas City; three grandchildren, Patrick Evans, Matthew Evans and Stephanie Evans; and a son-in-law, Joe Linnstaedter of Beeville. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m. at Beeville Memorial Park with Rev. Jesse Berthold officiating. Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Copyright 2013 mySouTex.com.
