Vicente Loza, 83, of Goliad, formerly of Tilden, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014. Mr. Loza was born to Asencio and Felipa (Vega) Loza on April 5, 1930, in Tilden. He worked as a rancher for more than 60 years for the Claude Franklin Ranch. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cayetano and Marcelo Loza; and four sisters, Trinidad Garza, Esmeralda Lopez, Lola Lopez and Jesusa Garcia. Survivors include one sister, Estella Lopez of California; six children, Joann (Juan D.) Lopez of Christine, Vicente Asencio Loza Jr. and Joe (Laura) Loza, both of Poteet, Mary (Felipe) Garcia and Sally Loza (Alvaro Blanco), both of Tilden, and Rosa (Charles) Breazeale of Goliad; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 28, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tilden, with the Rev. Jesus Anguiano officiating. Burial followed at Hilltop Cemetery in Tilden. Honorary pallbearers were Zechariah Loza, Lorenzo Lee Loza, Adam Asencio Loza, Felix Isaac Delgado, Jerome Hernandez, Isaiah Pena and Zefrin Gonzales.
